What We Do

The Embassy

The Embassy is a live music cafe in Kingston and Ottawa. We foster an inclusive environment centered on an intimate stage connecting you with our live performers each week.

The Embassy Live Music Café is special because everyone can join us without discrimination. Our team provides complimentary tickets to the local agencies we deliver food and clothing to. They then give those tickets to their clients who may otherwise not be able to afford them.

Branches

FAST 101 - Fight Against Sex Trafficking

Consistent with the Canadian Human Rights Act, FAST 101 has been committed to abolishing Human Trafficking and related issues in Kingston, Canada, and throughout the world since 2017.

FAST 101 serves as a direct outreach option for current and past victims as well as a community resource. Connecting survivors with immediate aftercare and direction for ongoing support, both within the organization and throughout the community.

Kingston Street Mission

Kingston Street Mission is a non-profit, donation-based, and volunteer-run organization, open during the cold months each year.

Our Mission is to bring visibility to those feeling invisible, hope to the hopeless, unconditional love without judgement encompassed in compassion and humility.

At Kingston Street Mission, it is our belief that everyone should be treated equally, and with kindness and love.

Community Nutrition Program

Every day our chefs prepare nutritious meals. It was a natural fit with all the great food that was coming in to prepare it on the spot and make use of the very ripe produce, or items too close to expiry to put into the regular distribution rotation. Currently we are preparing and delivering close to 3,000 meals each week to local food providing agencies, shelters, regional food banks, and community-based programs.

Supportive Housing and Shelters

We shelter and house over 500 individuals a week at multiple sites across Kingston through a mix of warming centres, shelters, and transitional housing options.

In partnership with: Kingston Street Mission, Homebase Housing, City of Kingston, and United Way KFL&A.

Catering

Got a corporate event coming up and need professional, cost-effective catering? You can now hire our Kingston kitchen team to cater your events within the greater Kingston area! Catering is offered as a social enterprise and operates on a cost-recovery basis. It also provides retraining opportunities for individuals experiencing addiction issues or similar challenges.

Programs

Student Food Box Program

Twice a month boxes of nutritious food are packed at the Community Food Redistribution Warehouse and delivered to 250 families with primary and/or secondary students in their households.

This project is a collaboration between Lionhearts Inc. and the Rotary Clubs in Kingston with major funding from the United Way of KFL&A and Kinsmen Club of Kingston.
Buy a box for a family in need with a monthly donation.

Vocational Training Program

We retrain individuals experiencing challenges such as addiction, homelessness, or other barriers and provide meaningful employment in skills like culinary, property management, and laundry services.

Food and Household Good Recovery

We gather and redistribute food and household goods from lionhearted partners nearly every day of the year. In 2023 we recovered nearly $8 million worth of items this way and provided them to local non-profits, community groups, and similar at no cost to these organizations. In addition to helping these service agencies and saving them money, we’re also helping to reduce waste!

Fresh Food Market Pop-Ups

Fresh Food Market Pop-Ups are here to help you keep your belly full without emptying your wallet. We’re bringing fresh, affordable produce and chef-created gourmet healthy options to Kingston and area. Visit lionhearts.ca/popup for times and locations.
